Back up apps
To back up your apps on Android phones or tablets, follow these steps:
Step 1:From the Home screen, tap Apps.
Step 2:Tap Settings.
Step 3:Select the General tab.
Step 4:Tap Backup and reset.
Step 5:Set your backup account if you don't have one. It defaults to your Google account.
Step 6:Select these check boxes:
>>Back up my data
>>Automatic restore
Back up contacts
To back up your contacts on Android phone(Samsung phone), follow these steps:
Step 1:From the Home screen, tap Contacts.
If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
Step 1:Tap the Menu key.
Step 2:Tap Merge accounts.
Step 3:Tap the desired option:
>>Merge with Google
>>Merge with Samsung
Step 4:Tap OK.
Step 5:If necessary, log in to your Google or Samsung account.

Step 6:Follow any additional prompts.
Back up to your SD card
To back up photos, videos, media and other documents from Android to SD card,export files to the SD card/memory card inside of your Android,please follow these steps:
Step 1:If necessary, insert your SD card.
Step 2:From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
Step 3:If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
If necessary, tap the Menu key, tap Contacts to display, and then tap All contacts.
Step 4:Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.
Step 5:Tap Import / Export.
Step 6:Tap Export to SD card.
Step 7:The pop-up window will display the file name for the contact list. If desired, record the name of the file before tapping OK.
Step 8:Tap OK.
Back up Photos,Videos and other media files to SD memory card
To back up your pictures, videos, music and other media files from Android internal memory to SD memory card, follow these steps:
To Use your Android phone to back up media files,you must have a SD card installed.
Step 1:From any Home screen, tap Apps.
Step 2:Tap My Files.
Step 3:Tap Device storage.
Step 4:Choose one of the following options:
>>To copy all of your files, tap the Menu key and then tap Select item then select the items you want to copy.
>>Locate the media and picture files you want to back up. To the left of the desired file or folder, tap the check box to select the check box. Repeat as desired.
Note: Pictures and movies captured using the Camera application are stored in the DCIM folder and media may be stored in the Download folder or other folders.
Step 5:Tap Copy.
Note: To move the file without duplicating it, tap Move.
Step 6:Tap SD memory card to enter your external SD card.
Step 7:If necessary, navigate to the desired folder.
Step 8:Tap Paste here.
Note: If moving the file, tap Move here.
Backup Your Android Data on PC
Step 1:Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tapMedia device to select the check box.
Step 2:On the computer, click the Open device to view files using Windows Explorer folder or else navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
Step 3:Navigate to the desired files on your device.
Note: The Card icon is your SD card and the Phone icon is your device's internal storage.
Step 4:Drag and drop the files into the desired computer folder.
Step 5:When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
Backup Your Android Data on Mac
Step 1:If necessary, navigate to samsung.com/kies, click DOWNLOAD FOR MAC OS and follow the prompts to download the Samsung Kies software.
Step 2:Connect USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
Step 3:On your computer, open Samsung Kies.
Step 4:Inside Kies, click the Back up / restore tab.
Step 5:If necessary, click the Backup tab.
Step 6:Next to 'Music' and 'Photo,' click the check box to select the check box.
Note: If you would like to back up all of your files, click the check box next to 'Select all items.'
Step 7:Click Backup.
Step 8:When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
Restore apps
To restore backed up apps on Android, follow these steps:
Step 1:If necessary, log into your Google account.
Step 2:From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Step 3:Tap Settings.
Step 4:Tap the General tab.
Step 5:Tap Accounts.
Step 6:Tap Google.
Step 7:Tap your email address.
Step 8:For each desired back up category, make sure the check box is selected. If necessary, tap the category to select the check box.
Step 9:Tap Sync now.
Restore contacts
To restore backed up contacts on Android, follow these steps:
Step 1:If necessary, log into your Google or Samsung account.
Step 2:From the Home screen, tap the Menu key.
Step 3:Tap Settings.
Step 4:Tap the General tab.
Step 5:Tap Accounts.
Step 6:Tap Google or Samsung.
Note: If you backed up your contacts to your Google account, then tap Google for step 4. If you backed up your contacts to your Samsung account, then tap Samsung for step 4.
Step 7:Tap your email address at the top of the screen.
Step 8:Tap Sync contacts to select the check box. If the check box is already selected, then tap Sync now.
Restore Contacts from SD card on Android
Step 1:If necessary, insert your SD card.
Step 2:From any Home screen, tap Contacts.
Step 3:If necessary, tap the Contacts tab.
Step 4:Tap the Menu key and then tap Import / Export.
Step 5:Tap Import from SD card.
Step 6:Tap the account where you want to save the contacts (or example, Google).
Tips: If you only have one contact list (vCard file) stored on your SD card, then the contacts will automatically copy now. If you have more then one file, follow steps 7 and 8.
Step 7:Tap Import vCard file. Tap OK.
Step 8:Tap the desired vCard file where the contacts are stored. Tap OK.
Restore photos, videos, music and other media files backup to Android
To restore backed up media and pictures, follow these steps:
Restore Files on Android device
Step 1:From any Home screen, tap Apps.
Step 2:Tap the Samsung bundle.
Step 3:Tap My Files.
Step 4:Tap All.
Step 5:Tap Device storage.
Step 6:Locate the folder containing the desired media or pictures.
Step 7:Tap the Menu key, tap Select item, and to the left of each desired file or folder, tap the check box to select the check box. Repeat as desired.
Step 8:Tap the Menu key and then tap Copy.
Step 9:Tap SD memory card to enter your device's internal memory. Navigate to where you want to restore the files.
Step 10:Tap Move here.
Restore Android Data on computer
Step 1:Connect the USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
Step 2:On the computer, click the Open device to view files using Windows Explorer folder or else navigate to and open the phone’s disk drive and navigate to the desired folder.
Step 3:Navigate to the desired folder or location on your device.
Note: The Card icon is your SD card and the Phone icon is your device's internal storage.
Step 4:Drag and drop the backup files on your computer into the desired folder inside your phone.
Step 5:When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
Restore Android Data on Mac
Step 1:Connect the USB cable to the phone, then to a computer.
Note: If necessary, touch the Status bar and drag it down, tap Connected as a media device and then tap Media device to select the check box.
Step 2:On your computer, open Samsung Kies.
Step :Inside Samsung Kies, click the Back up / restore tab.
Step 3:If necessary, click the Restore tab.
Step 4:Next to 'Music' and 'Photo,' click the check box to select the check box. If available, click the check boxes next to any other categories you would like to restore.
Note: If you would like to restore all of your files, click the check box next to 'Select all items.'
Step 5:Click Restore. If necessary, follow any additional prompts.
Step 6:When finished, safely disconnect the phone from the computer.
